With Trombone Bop, based on the popular Piano Bop childrens piano method developed in Japan, trombonists now too have a fun and musical way to learn the basics. Over 100 songs in jazz, classical, rock, pop and world music genres, with fully orchestrated live play-along recordings and teacher duets. Some songs may be played with Piano Bop students. Use individually or with a teacher and friends. For beginners of all ages, no experience needed.



Trombonist and composer Brian Allen draws on a dynamic global career to create Trombone Bop. He taught at over 100 public schools and universities (Harvard, Berklee, UNAM, UCLA, Luzern, Prague & Bruckner Conservatories), faculty at Brazosport College (Texas), MusicMatters (Sri Lanka) and JIMS (Tokyo). There he co-authored Piano Bop books and website with pianist Jacob Koller. Brian’s former students play in community bands, professional jazz ensembles and symphonies: all kinds of music. Lead trombonist twice in the Texas All-State Jazz Band, he studied with trombone great Don Lucas at Texas Tech University (MM Composition, BA Performance) and jazz giants Roswell Rudd and Milford Graves. He is a Fulbright Scholar in Musicology with awards from Meet the Composer, Foundation for Contemporary Arts and ASCAP, his compositions featured at the International Trombone Festival, American Trombone Workshop, Tanglewood, Vive Latino, TMEA, CBGB’s and NPR. With collaborators in North America, Europe and Asia, he appears on over 60 recordings as a leader, co-leader or sideperson. Brian is an Edwards Trombones Artist since 2003.
